Portland Hospitals Implement Crisis Standards Of Care

PORLTAND, Ore – Portland hospitals are so strained with respiratory patients, that on Friday Crisis Standards of Care were implemented.

OHSU says that allows hospitals to be more flexible in how they manage resources and patients, including postponing some surgeries.

Pediatric crisis standards were implemented November 21st.

Health officials are urging people to wear masks in crowded, public areas and reconsider holiday gatherings where young children and elderly people might be exposed to a virus.
