BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – The Red Cross says more than 1,000 disaster volunteers have been mobilized from all 50 states to help with flood relief efforts in Louisiana.
Flooding has killed 12 people and damaged at least 40,000 homes in the southern part of the state. And as water levels recede, areas downstream are becoming flooded as well.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards says some parishes with widespread flooding damage have been placed under curfew because of scattered reports of looting.
