House Republicans Slam Impeachment
(Washington, DC) — House Republican leaders are slamming Democrats for drafting articles of impeachment against President Trump. Talking with reporters at the Capitol, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called it a sad day for America. He accused Democrats of trying to remove a president because they dislike him. McCarthy called it embarrassing and insisted that impeachment is increasingly unpopular across the U.S. McCarthy insisted that Democrats are rushing to judgment on impeachment. He said Dems are willing to tear the country down to remove Trump from office.
The House Judiciary Committee is proposing two articles of impeachment, charging Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress in the Ukraine scandal. House Republican Whip Steve Scalise [[ skall-EESE ]] accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi of bowing down to the “most radical elements of her base.” He argued that there’s no evidence to support impeachment and called it a “low mark” in Congress.
