HILLSBORO, Ore. — A Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiation Team, also called SWAT, is in a standoff with a person barricaded inside a home in a residential neighborhood in Hillsboro on Friday morning.

The standoff is happening on Southeast Washington Street near Southeast 7th Avenue.

The sheriff’s Detective Public Information Officer Lanel Ceric tells KXL,  “He is currently barricaded inside the home by himself. The SWAT team is executing a search warrant and hopefully it will be resolved pretty soon.”

We asked  “What would you like people to do in the meantime? Do they need to avoid the area? ”

He responded, “Avoid the area. The MAX is shut down west of 12th Avenue so it doesn’t go all the way to the end.

As soon as we get it resolved, we’ll get it back up and running.”  He says the situation started at about 4:30 A.M.

The MAX Blue Line service is disrupted due to the incident and shuttle buses will serve between Washington and Southeast 12th Avenue and Hatfield Government Center.
